Pushing Play

Gaming. For Everyone.

Did you enter the LBP Design-A-Sackboy Contest? If so, you might want to head over to their site and make sure that your creations have not been pilfered.

What you see above is an image from the LBP forum user RustyOldTown posted, side by side with some new DLC from LittleBigPlanet. Rusty claims to have entered the Shark costume in the DLC contest, only to hear back from Sony that he had not won. A few months passed, and now we find out that maybe Sony liked his design afterall, but unfortunately he will not be compensated, or even given proper credit for his creation. Sadly, the rules of contest entry ensure that Sony has the right to do whatever it wants with the entries, but seriously, are you that hard for cash that you can’t at least toss these guys some shwag? Oh wait… I guess you are.

Update: It looks like the picture above isn’t actually the one that Sony is using. Here’s there version. Less similar, and also less cool.

  1. The first, I can see the similarities, but the second?
It was obvious that there would be Motorstorm costumes, same as there would be MGS4 costumes. Considering Motorstorm was the flagship app for the PS3 in year 1, it wasn’t a hard prediction.

  2. lol, making people work for their DLC. oh gaming devs….
