Really, Activision? Really? Taking the first Rock Band’s boxart, rearranging the silhouettes and switching the blueish haze to a red/orange one and slabbing your logo on it? Maybe creativity in the gaming industry really is dead. I would say adding the “Complete Band Game” tag on the bottom-right smelled of “we’re-trying-a-bit-too-hard” but then I thought about the average Wal-Mart shopper. He or she isn’t exactly your average Sherlock Holmes (at least not in up here in Rochester, NY) and is gonna need alot more clues to solve this mystery.
I’m still convinced this game will rock my socks and the sales charts. Good thing my mom always told me not to judge a book by its cover. I’m not one to add gasoline to a flamewar but Rock Band 2 and Harmonix definitely win the boxart round.

[...] As for the actual game, it’s really just Rock Band with a coat of that familiar “why-is-my-character’s-jaw-so-hideously-large?” paint on it. No, really. If I came home ass-drunk off Jose Cuervo I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. But then again when I get drunk off tequila I usually can’t tell the difference between Jessica Biel and Ellen Degeneres, so maybe I shouldn’t be talking. The GHTunes and song creation mode weren’t shown at PAX so yeah, GHWT was Rock Band but with round notes. Right down to the boxart. [...]
